Backing Storage
There are lots of different ways of storing your documents, photos, music or video clips on your computer. There are many devices you can use and each one can store different amounts of data. The amount it can store, its capacity, is measured in Megabytes and Gigabytes.
In reference to computer storage, backing storage is any device, or medium, that computer data can be stored on and is typically non-volatile. Common types of backing storage devices or medium are hard drives, floppy disks, CD or DVD discs, memory sticks, and magnetic tapes. Data is usually saved to these types of storage for long term keeping, like tax records or other important documentation.
DVD
