Laptop
Alternatively referred to as a notebook, a laptop is a portable computer that with the same abilities as a desktop, but is small enough for easy mobility. Portable computers run off AC power or batteries, such as NiMH or Nicad packs, for a few hours. Today, most laptop computers are becoming thinner and lighter to help complete with other devices such as tablets. For the PC these computers may be also referred to as Ultrabooks.
A laptop, or notebook computer:
Is small
Is light and can be carried easily
Is powered by batteries (or by mains adapter)
Is useful for working away from the home or office
Has an LCD or TFT screen
Has a keyboard, a hard drive and a CD/DVD drive
