A palmtop computer is a personal computer or other electronic device that has many of the same features as a computer and fits in the palm of your hand. A good example of an early palmtop computer is the PalmPilot. It is also called a handheld or a personal data assistant (PDA). Palmtops can be used for storing and retrieving data ,keeping a diary of appointments, playing music, communicating with a network and a host of other uses. Palmtops are merging with mobile phones to create 'smartphones'.
